Will boosting the bass distort the track?
A big boost on an already loud track can clip the loudest bass notes. If you hear crackling, lower the boost by a few decibels or normalise the file afterwards.
Which frequencies count as bass?
Roughly 20 to 250 Hz. The 60 Hz band is the deep thump; the 230 Hz band adds warmth and body.
