Should I crop to fill or add bars?
Crop to fill trims the edges so the picture fills the new frame with no black bars; it is what social platforms expect. Add bars keeps every pixel and letterboxes the rest. Stretch distorts the image and is rarely what you want.
Can I make a video bigger?
You can set any size, including larger than the original, but upscaling cannot invent detail. The result will be softer than true footage at that resolution. It is still useful when a platform demands a minimum size.
Does resizing make the file smaller?
Usually, yes. Fewer pixels need fewer bits. Going from 4K to 1080p typically cuts the size to a quarter or less. For an exact size target use the compress tool.
What sizes do Instagram, TikTok and YouTube want?
Reels and TikTok use 1080×1920 (9:16). Instagram feed posts accept 1080×1080 (1:1) and 1080×1350 (4:5). YouTube standard videos are 1920×1080 (16:9) and Shorts are 1080×1920. The presets cover all of these.
Is the aspect ratio kept?
Standard presets keep it automatically. Custom sizes lock the ratio by default; untick the lock if you need an exact width and height.
