Why does my phone video play sideways on the computer?
Phones record in one orientation and store a rotation flag that tells the player to turn the picture. Some players and editors ignore the flag. This tool bakes the rotation into the actual frames so the flag is no longer needed.
Is the rotation lossless?
Rotating the pixels requires re-encoding the video, which is done at a bitrate matched to the original. In practice the result looks identical. Metadata-only rotation would be lossless but is exactly what many apps ignore.
Can I mirror a video?
Yes. Tick “Mirror horizontally” to fix a selfie video that reads backwards, or “Flip vertically” for an upside-down mount. Flips can be combined with rotation.
Does the resolution change?
Rotating by 90° or 270° swaps width and height, so a 1920×1080 clip becomes 1080×1920. Nothing is cropped.
