How to change the volume of a video
- Drop the video. The audio track is detected and shown with the file details.
- Choose a gain or normalise. Slide from −20 dB to +20 dB, or pick automatic normalisation to a standard loudness.
- Apply and download. The audio is re-encoded at the new level and muxed back with the untouched video.

Questions people ask
How much louder can I make it?
Up to +20 dB, which is ten times louder. Anything above the maximum level is clipped, so for very quiet recordings use normalisation, which finds the safe amount automatically.
What does normalise do?
Peak normalisation raises the volume until the loudest moment just touches the maximum. Loudness normalisation aims for an average level similar to streaming platforms, which is better for speech.
Does it change the video quality?
No. The video stream is copied without re-encoding. Only the audio is decoded, adjusted and encoded again at 160 kbps.
