Reverse a video
Make a clip run backwards. Frames are decoded a keyframe group at a time and encoded in reverse order on your device, so even long clips fit in memory.

How to reverse a video
- Drop the video. Short clips work best; a rewind effect rarely needs more than a minute.
- Choose what to reverse. Keep the audio and reverse it too, or drop it for a silent result.
- Reverse and download. The clip is re-encoded backwards at a bitrate matched to the original.
Why use myownvid for this
Nothing is uploaded
The file is read straight from your disk and processed by your browser. There is no server, so there is nothing to leak, store or delete.
Faster than any upload
Your device’s hardware encoder does the work. No queue, no upload bar, no waiting for a download afterwards.
No watermark, no account
Every tool is free with no sign-up, no export cap, no resolution limit and no logo stamped on your video.
Presets that match real limits
Discord, WhatsApp, email, Reels: pick the destination and the settings are already right.
Questions people ask
How long does it take?
About as long as re-encoding the clip forwards. Videos with very long keyframe intervals, such as screen recordings, take a little longer because frames are decoded in overlapping windows.
Is the audio reversed as well?
Yes, if you keep it. Reversed speech sounds like gibberish, which is often exactly the effect wanted; otherwise drop the audio and add music with the add audio tool.
Can I reverse only a section?
Trim the section first, reverse it, then merge it with the rest. Each step runs on your device.
